The Most Dramatic Journey on American Idol...

... it finally has ended tonight.

Matt Giraud is finally going home tonight.
I will never forget the first ever life 'SAVE' that the judges used for Matt.
and, sorry to say this, I gotta tell you that I kinda predicted he was going home tonight.
When Ryan said that the bottom 3 were Kris, Adam, and Matt,
especially when Kris was SAVED, I just knew that Matt was going home.

I don't know what happened to Matt.
He's a good singer but I wonder why he never got enough fans to vote for him.
Even after Randy compared him to Justin Timberlake or after he played the baby grand.
clearly, America is just not into Matt.

Two things that made me feel relief tonight were:

1. FINALLY Adam Lambert was in the BOTTOM 3!!!
gosh! I think he needs to feel how it is to be in the bottom three after his "theatrical performance" (quoted from Simon Cowell who quoted from Randy Jeackson).
His voice is good indeed, but I still don't wanna see him winning.
I simply don't like his voice. period.

2. America has made the RIGHT decision to save Kris Allen.
I can't tell you how relieved I was when I watched the result show just earlier tonight.
Kris Allen just blows me away weeks after weeks.
gosh! he's GOOD! (both physically and vocally. lol)

the truth is, I really don't have any idea what would happen next week.
Will Adam be in the bottom three again?
will Alison save? will Danny?
the most important thing, will KRIS save???

Teman Baik

Gak tau kapan terakhir kalinya aku punya temen deket cowok.
Waktu kecil sih aku emang BANYAK banget temen cowok, tapi kan itu dulu, waktu kecil.
Temenan sama cowok waktu kecil palingan ngapain sih? main sepeda, main monopoli, main PS bareng.

Pertama kali kenal Mueng, aku awalnya ngerasa dia C*** banget.
mulai dari tampang sampai kelakuan. (no offense!)

Selalu seru ngobrol sama Mueng.

"Iya, dulu gue waktu tingkat satu seringnya main sama temen-temen C*** gue. Sekarang gue barengnya sama orang Batak..."

Mueng rocks the best lah buat seorang temen cowok!

Kredit Tanpa Agunan

"Yth Bpk/Ibu Manfaatkan fasilitas kredit tanpa agunan dari St*nd*rd Ch*rt*r*d Bank hingga 150 juga.Info hubungi Nanik"

Aku sih gak habis pikir.
Maksudnya, kalau aku bener-bener gak punya uang dan lagi butuh kredit, aku gak bakalan pernah deh menjawab sms tawaran itu.
Sama sekali gak menarik gitu.

Kadang-kadang gak cuma sms loh.
Terkadang, gak sengaja aku angkat.

Nomor hpku emang didaftarin pakai nama papa.

hehehhe!

from the rest (Funny)

"I thought of all the things I could've been. ... a mountaineer, a writer of historical romances, and inventor credited with a great discovery, like Alexander Graham Bell, who pioneered phone sex."
A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz, Martin Dean's thought, p. 394

"Who was my father?
The offal of the universe.
The fatty rind.
An ulcer on the mouth of time.
He was sorry he never had a great historical name like Pope Innocent VIII or Lorenzo the Magnificent.
He was the first man who told me that no one would buy life insurance if it was called death insurance."

A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz, Martin Dean's obituary by Jasper Dean, p. 553

what would you do?

what would you do if you were asked to come to a wedding together with your old-time crush?

what would you do if every single one of your friends teased you because you went to a wedding with your old time crush?

what would you do if your friend asked to get a picture taken with you and your crush and said,
"hey! I want my picture with this future bride and groom!!!"???

what the hell would you do if your friend introduced you as your crush's girlfriend?

If you ask me,
my answer is, "I'd rather roll over and die"

Anak Gaul Bandung

Rame pisan siah acaranya!

orang-orang meuni tahan papanasan!
hahahaha!

Nah, yang bikin acaranya teh namanya "Coup De Neuf", Bahasa Prancis yang (katanya) artinya "A cup of new things".
Sebenernya (katanya) si kepanitiaan ini dulunya bernama "Les Voila" cumannya, sekarang ganti nama aja.
Gaya pisan ya? nama kepanitiaan aja pake Bahasa Prancis.

kan udah gaya-gaya ya ngasih nama pake Bahasa Prancis.
Trus segala macem teh pake Bahasa Inggris, misalnya nulisnya "ticket" bukan "tiket".
Walopun mc-nya teuteup pake Bahasa Sunda, tetep we ngagayaan pake-pake bahasa orang lain.
Tulisannya kira-kira begini lah:
"are you remember Les Voila? Now this is it. Coup De Neuf."

PLIS DEH!!!

Puguhan ini teh acara gagayaan. Nama kepanitiaannya pake Bahasa Prancis, sasagala make Bahasa Inggris, grammarnya SALAH pula...
kumaha yeuh, Anak Gaul Bandung???

Kata gua juga, mun gagayaan mah kedahna dicek heula!
Mun jagona Basa Sunda, Basa Sunda we atuh...
manya tina backdrop grammar ge salah...
atuh lah...

Segitu aja dari gua mah.
Acaranya mah sumpah, rame!

*gaya ngomong Anak Gaul Bandung mode off*

Keep up the GOOD work, Coup De Neuf!!!

I knew it was coming

Too bad...
I know...

It's too bad that this guy is going home...

He is so charming, has a good vocal, and (for an Indian) I think he's very good looking (if you see him in a certain angle and the picture was taken nicely).
But I knew all along that Simon Cowell was right.
Anoop Desai was good, but he wasn't good enough to win the competition.
So there, he got eliminated by week 6. which is a pretty good achievement, considering the fact that he didn't have any other singing competition experiences other than American Idol.
I wasn't all disappointed as I thought I would be because I think this season of American Idol is the best-est. I think that finally America got it, the way to choose which person is going home every week, that is.
I had a good time watching Anoop sang in American Idol.
and if he's gonna make a record and sell it in Indonesia, I'd be the FIRST to buy it!

and in this Top 7 performance I found another great guy.
Kris Allen.

I know I was like SO LATE on realizing that, but oh well....
I kinda 'get' why girls are so into Kris since the first week of the final round.
But I was only like, "This guy is GOOD!" and that was it. He never get stuck in my mind like Anoop did (or does?).
But then I watched his performance in this Top 7 Disco Week, and I fell in love.
Kris was SO GOOD!!!! vocally, performance wise, and physically.
Oh gosh!!! when I saw Kris performed, I was like, "I wanna have Kris as my boyfriend!!!"
I mean, how can Kris dressed in a simple white t-shirt and plain jeans and sneakers got into my head?
how can Kris performed with a simple guitar playing and his voice stuck in my brain?
I totally WANT Kris Allen as my BOYFRIEND!

What a great season 8!

I'm not currently in love with anyone

I really am NOT.

it's just because nowadays I'm starting to wear some hair clips and tie a bit of my hair.
Plus I kinda want to dress nicely, just for the record.
and today I went to campus wearing a skirt.

all of the above don't indicate that I'm currently in love with someone and willing to change just for this guy that I supposedly in love with.

I'm just trying out some new things.
and it just so happens that those changes are indeed very different than my usual self.
But it doesn't meant that I'm in love with someone.

Plus, if I'm in love with someone, I'd be bragging about my feelings over this blog and on facebook.

So, please trust me everyone,
I'm not currently in love with anyone!

Monsters vs Aliens (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

I am a cartoon FREAK!
that is for sure!

Yesterday, I was just browsing around in the internet and I found this and this.
I was really gonna scream excitedly.
Monsters vs Aliens is ON!!!

My sister and I have made a long commitment to watch this movie together, 3D version.
We both watched the trailer for the first time (3D) when we watched Bolt (3D). We fell in love with the trailer right away.
So when I found that this movie is ON, I just HAVE TO watch it.

I don't care if its schedule still on 10 pm shows and midnight.
I just HAVE TO watch it. Period.
and I successfully convinced my sister and my cousin to watch it with me.

I don't care that I watched the 10 pm show. I don't care if it cost me 100000 rupiah for the 3D version.
I just love-love-love the movie.

The story was about an alien who tried to destroy Earth.
On doing that, his chemical weapon, quantonium, landed on Earth and a girl named Susan got infected.
Susan magically grew very quickly and turned herself to Ginormica, a giant girl with a whole lots of power.
Susan or Ginormica considered as a monster and got isolated in a place where the US government keep all the monsters ever created accidentally. There, Suzanne befriend with B.O.B, Insectosaurus, Dr. Cockroach PhD, and The Missing Link, the other monsters who also got isolated.
and the story continued on how those monsters tried to save the Earth.
On the other hand, Susan who always wanted to have his normal size and life back, suddenly loved the idea of being a monster and loved her new friends.
there, the story got kinda emotional because Susan in the end decided to stay as a monster with her monster friends.

As usual, I love every little details in this movie.
The dialogues, the settings, the stories, everything.

So, for those who claimed themselves as a cartoon lovers, it would be a crime to not watch this movie!
Plus, if you're able to watch the 3D version of it, you would NOT regret it!
Oh, as a comparison, I just wanna mention that Blitz's 3D glasses felt more comfortable to use rather than XXI's 3D glasses. Just so you guys know...

Have fun watching this movie!!!

Love-Hate

Things that I love:

1. Situ Gintung Disaster

I'm not happy that a disaster happened in my country. but because of this disaster, my professors are out helping the area so they got to miss some classes and I have some free time.

2. Facebook

I LOVE facebook.
specifically, currently I'm in love with the place to put a status besides my name. I think it's very cool how you can write something and immediately people give comments about it.

3. my girlfriends

I don't want to specify which girl friends I'm talking about. I just LOVE them.
I get to go CRAZY with them. Out of control.
We can talk about LOTS of stuff and wouldn't get embarrassed about anything.

4. Americans

This season of American Idol makes me fall in love deeply with Americans. I think for once, Americans are doing a great thing with their votes in American Idol.
Keep up the good work, guys!!!

Things that I hate:

1. My GSM cell phone

Gosh!!! It keeps saying that my phone memory is full, especially the space for messages.
to make it worse, I'm having a HARD time receiving any sms.
I HATE IT!!!

2. my current classes

The midterm is done and I'm now starting new chapters in classes.
the thing is, currently, my lecturer is going REALLY slow on EVERYTHING. but I know, I just know, when it gets closer to the end of semester, I'm gonna have crazy schedule to finish all the big assignment that are going to be assigned to me NEAR the END of the semester.
I HATE IT!

3. there are only seven days in a week

Here's the thing: I would like to do LOTS of stuff. Unfortunately, there are only seven days in a week and 24 hours in one day. It means that I have to choose stuff that I want to do and stuff that I HAVE TO miss out on.
when the fact that I really wanna go to one place at one particular time, suddenly there are other cool offers to go to another places at the same particular time.
How can this happen to me?
Don't I get to do all the things that I want?

4. Indonesian Political Parties

Their campaign doesn't help me with my decision of voting. Until now, I don't even know whether I have to vote or not. Even if I know that I have to vote, I don't know who it is gonna be, or which political party it is gonna be.
and they way they campaign makes me sick.

Late

I know I'm soooooo late on writing about this...
but I still wanna write about this because I think this is an everlasting topic about an everlasting novel and movie.

Slumdog Millionaire VS Q&A

I first watched the movie a few months ago. When it was announced as Best Picture in Golden Globe.
I watched the pirated one, of course. Because if I was to wait for the non-pirated one to be released in Indonesia, I would be more behind than this writing.

So I watched the movie and I was in awe.
I think it was GREAT.
It opened many people minds about how people in third world countries live. How slum area really is.
It was created in every little details that amazed me.

Like when Jamal dived into a small pond of feces.
or when the street children were to be blinded if they couldn't sing very good, so they could earn more money.
or how Jamal, as a little kid, learned to be a guide in Taj Mahal.
or even, the way Jamal entered the quiz show to be a participant.

Everything in the movie was very well put. The story was very well arranged that I really think it could happen to anyone in any third world country.
Nothing is too hyperbolic. Everything is very well thought. And I could really see the string of every story line.
Very nice.

and again, it was great because it can definitely open others' minds to people that live in third world countries.

plus, I thought about Indonesian film makers.
Other than Garin Nugroho in Daun Diatas Bantal, no one has ever had the courage to create such movie which brings out the 'real' life of Indonesian street kids.

And then, after watching the movie, I was surprised that my dad came home one day with a book in his hand.
The title was Slumdog Millionaire previously released as Q&A.
I saw Q&A a lot of times in the bookstore before.
I never really interested in it because of the background was in India. Unlike many western people who are CRAZY about India, I felt that India is in some way not very different with Indonesia. So, I never really got hold of the book, until that time my dad brought it home for me.
When handing the book to me, my dad chattered about how great this book is and how it already became a movie and the movie became a top box office.
I couldn't wait to read it.

So I started reading and I was shocked.

The movie and the book is VERY different.

Other than the general plot which is: a guy who comes from a slum area get to be in a Who Wants to be a Millionaire? quiz and answer all the questions correctly,
nothing both in book or in the movie show the resemblace of these two items.

The main characters' names are different, how they grow up are different, how they struggle with life are different.

But what can I say?
Both book and movie are GREAT.

Here are some of the lines that I quoted from the book:
"So I got the job, and only then did I discover that life with a movie star is not as glamorous as it appears from the outside. When you get to see them without makeup you find that they are like you and me, with the same anxieties and insecurities. The only difference is that we are mainly concern about money, or lack of it, and they are mainly concerned with fame. Or lack of it."
P. 212

"And I realised again that real life is very different from reel life. Love doesn't happen in an instant. It creeps up on you and then it turns your life upside down. It colors your waking moments and fills your dreams. You begin to walk on air and see life in brilliant new shades. But it also brings with it a sweet agony, a delicious torture."
P. 268

"I realised a long time ago that dreams have power only over your mind; but with money you can have power over minds of others."
P. 316

"Because luck comes from within." P. 318

So, you don't have anything to do this weekend?
you haven't watched Slumdog Millionaire and haven't read Slumdog Millionaire the novel (previously released as Q&A)???
There you go!
something to do this weekend!

Have a great one!

Maaf, Aku Memang Blak-Blak-an

Trus, gak cuma segitu aja.
Masih mending kalau aku cuma terlambat kuliah. Hari Jumat kemarin aku TERLAMBAT UJIAN!!!
Semuanya GARA-GARA Partai Demokrat!!!

Aku BENCI Partai Demokrat!!!

2. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS)

Sebenarnya aku gak punya dendam apa-apa sama PKS.

Ceritanya aku mau berangkat kuliah hari Senin kemarin. Dengan tenangnya, aku langsung memanaskan mesin mobil tanpa memeriksa body luar mobil.
Tiba-tiba, mamaku bilang, "Dhe, kamu milih PKS?"
Aku langsung tersentak kaget.
aku langsung teriak, "MA, TOLONG COPOTIN STIKERNYA. TOLONG!"
